Nails
Nail disorders include fragile and splitting nails, fungal infections of the nail plate, ingrown toenails and nail psoriasis among others. Dr Maya performs partial and total nail avulsion with minimal discomfort and downtime for many nail disorders including ingrown nails and thick or pincer nails.
Hair
The most common hair disease is hair thinning and shedding. In men, this is primarily genetically predetermined (baldness) and Dr Maya treats it with Minoxidil, DHT blockers, mesotherapy and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). In women, hair thinning can be hereditary (female pattern androgenetic alopecia). Occasionally, it is related to internal diseases and can become chronic. Dr Zayour manages her female patients with Minoxidil, anti-androgens, vitamins, mesotherapy and PRP.
Another easily treatable condition is alopecia areata which is patchy hair loss, commonly presenting in females on the scalp and in males also on the beard. Dr Maya frequently manages alopecia areata with a single injection that leads to hair regrowth in 3-4 weeks.
